What size web sites do you create?
Strategy undertakes a wide range of work, from small static sites up to enterprise level solutions. We are happy to quote for anything from a 5 page brochure site up to complex, database driven sites that integrate your existing software systems.
-
How will my website cost?
Like all commodities, the cost depends on what you get. For example, if your buying a car, the more power and accessories, the higher the cost. It's impossible to give an accurate figure without assessing your requirements exactly, however a small 5 page website may cost $1,000 (£500), a simple eCommerce site around $5000 (£2,500) right up to $50,000 or more for a complex application which integrates with your existing systems.
-
What types of technology do you use?
While not tied to a particular technology, we generally develop sites for Unix servers using PHP. If a Microsoft application is required however, we have extensive experience with those technologies also.
-
Is there any standards when creating a website?
Yes. There are web standards set out by the Worldwide Web Consortium (W3C). Wherever possible, we follow these standards, however deficiencies in some browsers may result in additional code which is not included in international web standards.
-
What do you need to know before you can quote?
In order to produce accurate quotes and proposals, we will discuss your requirements in detail.
-
How long will it take to finish my site?
This depends largely on the complexity of the site and the speed at which you produce content, images and other deliverables at your end. A small static site can be completed within 2 weeks, while a large site may take 3 months.
-
Do you offer hosting?
Strategy Internet believe that it is better to leave hosting to the experts who have facilities to monitor your site and provide support 24/7. We work with several recognised hosting companies, depending on your requirements, and will set up your hosting with one of these companies for you. You may, of course, choose your own hosting company.
-
Who owns the copyright to my website?
You do. All content, images and code belong to you, after full payment has been received. The exception is when using 3rd party software, which is licensed to yourself. You will retain the licence for that software to be used on your chosen domain name.
-
Do you offer maintenance contracts?
We can provide a suitable content management solution to empower you to keep your own site updated easily. The majority of our clients manage their websites without the need of our assistance, however, if you prefer we manage your site for you, we are happy to offer an inexpensive maintenance contract.
-
How do we know you'll be around next week?
We have been in operation since 2000, and keep our overheads low, so we plan to be in business for some time to come.
-
Do I need a content management system (CMS)?

Do you work with flash?
Yes, of course! Generally we advise to use Flash only for adding multimedia elements to a site (Video, image rollovers etc.). or for complex graphically rich applications such as interactive maps. We can, however, create entire Flash websites, and even include content management systems into a Flash site.
-
Can you add video to our site?
Yes, we can add video in any format, including QuickTime, Windows Media Player and Flash Video (as used by www.youtube.com).
-
What's involved in implementing an eCommerce site?
This depends on what type of eCommerce site you require. It can be quite a simple process of settling on design and general functionality, then creating the site, however if you require the site to integrate with your existing warehousing and accounting software then the process becomes extremely involved. For newcomers to online trading it is worthwhile to mention that you will also require the infrastructure and systems behind the scenes, such as warehousing, supply chain, delivery facilities etc.

Shouldn't I just use someone local?
If your buying a new car it is easier to use a local dealer as you'll want to see the vehicle in real life, sit inside it and test drive it. There will also be service which requires the car to be returned to the dealer from time to time.
This is not an issue in the world of websites as design and development milestones are uploaded to our server for you to view online. You can see it in real life and test drive in your own office.
The day-to-day management of a project can be easily undertaken through email and telephone. We have hundreds of satisfied clients across the UK, Australia, USA, and Europe.
